Lesson 1 of 0
In Progress

Week 1 Coursework

By now, you should have completed the Pre-Course Activities (you updated your profile, ordered your course materials, watched the recommended tutorials, connected with your proctor, and located a real-world teaching assignment location). If there are any details that still need to be addressed, please take care of those right away! Click here if you need to review the Pre-Course Activities.

This course requires three teaching practicums observed by an approved proctor.  You should have completed the Proctor Confirmation steps before the course start date. If you have not yet received notification regarding your proctor, please contact the CMI Online Administrator at 1-800-300-4033. ext 1313. More details can be found by going to the Proctor/Practicum Information section.

This first week of TCE Level 1 will help you to be more aware of God’s view of children and their need of salvation. You will learn how to develop effective teaching for an evangelistic Scripture Memory Verse for children, choose the verse you will prepare to teach, and submit your “Working Out the Steps to Teach a Bible Verse” worksheet to be evaluated. You will also introduce yourself to the classmates that you will be learning with and from throughout this course and share where you will be doing your real-world teaching. This “getting to know you” exercise will help you to begin to feel connected to other students participating in your learning community. You are required to respond to at least two other students in each forum discussion. Be sure to respond to comments to your own post as well. The first Forum will be an ungraded assignment, but please adhere to the guidelines provided in the Forum Rubric.

Your assignments and activities for this week will be described below in the recommended order of completion.

After posting in the Week 1 Forum, be sure to return to the forum and post responses to comments made by your classmates. At least two response posts are due by Monday at 11:55 PM Central Time.
