Party Club Observation Explanation

WEEK 9 (March 9-15, 2021)

Observation Explanation

The online student has been assigned to prepare and conduct an entire Party Club during this observation time. A lesson worksheet, party club schedule, materials list, song visual, and review game have already been completed by the student and evaluated by the online instructor in order to help the student prepare for this teaching time.

The student is required to teach the Evangelistic lesson only. Other individuals may assist in other areas of the Party Club. The student should bring a song visual and a Bible to use during the practicum. If they do not bring these items, please note this on the observation form.

Please be sure to record the beginning and ending time of the lesson and the entire Party Club on your Observation Sheet. The student is allowed to use notes that are either discreetly placed in the Bible or on the back of the visual. These notes should not be read during the Party Club. They should only serve as an outline for the student to refer to while teaching. If the student appears to be reading the information at any time during the club, please note this on the observation sheet.

During the Party Club, as stated above the online student is only required to teach the assigned lesson. As the student is teaching the Evangelistic lesson, the method taught in the Progressive Methods course should be followed. The lesson should be 15 -20 minutes in length from start to finish. Be sure to record the beginning and ending time on your observation sheet. This method of teaching a Bible lesson begins by introducing the lesson in a creative way and then weaving the gospel points from the Wordless Book into the lesson in a natural way. The truths from the gold, dark and red pages will be taught in the Evangelistic lesson and an invitation for salvation should be given at the end of the lesson. For specific details about this method, please view the Party Club Presentation found below.

If the student is teaching the memory verse, please provide notes on the observation form for the online instructor. The method taught in TCE Level 1 should be followed.  This method of teaching of a verse begins by introducing the verse in a creative way, presenting the verse as being from the Word of God, explaining the words and phrases of the verse, applying the verse to both saved and unsaved children and then repeating the verse several times using a fun review method. For specific details about this method, please view the memory verse portion of the Party Club Presentation found below.

If the Progressive Methods of Child Evangelism student is teaching the song, please provide notes on the observation form for the online instructor about the song if the student is the person introducing a new song. The method taught in TCE Level 1 should be followed. This method of teaching of a song begins by introducing it in a creative way sparking interest in the spiritual truth the song teaches, presenting the music and the words together, explaining difficult words using the visual aid, applying the verse to both saved and unsaved children and then singing the song again in a fun way. For specific details about this method, please view the new song portion of the Party Club Presentation found below.

Sample Party Club Presentation

If you have not seen a Party Club taught following Child Evangelism Fellowship methods, please take time to watch the video presentation below. In this video, you will see a Party Club taught in the same manner that the club should be taught by the online student and their team. Becoming familiar with this teaching method will enable you to recognize each step as the student teaches it in his or her practicum.

Before watching the presentation, download and print the Party Club Observation Sheet below. This is the same form you will be using when observing the student’s Party Club. In order to become familiar with the layout, have a pen or pencil ready and fill out the Observation Sheet as you would if observing the club. Doing this will help you identify each needed step and note what is taught in each one as you will need to do during your observation of the online student.

Party Club Observation Worksheets

Planning and participating in a Party Club is a requirement for each student taking the Progressive Methods of Child Evangelism course. To help the students develop into effective children’s workers, we are asking you to take special note of how the students conduct themselves, interact with the children and teach the Party Club. To help you know what to look for, we have created a Party Club Observation Workheet.

The file below is the Party Club Observation Sheet that you will need to fill out during the student’s party club. If you have not already used the Party Club Observation Sheet in conjunction with the Party Club Presentation above, please look over the Party Club Observation Sheet now and become familiar with it prior to the actual party club.

To help the online instructor assign an accurate grade, please provide as many details on the Party Club Observation Sheet as possible. Comments that would help the instructor would be details about the following:

  • The flow of the club
  • How team members work together and link from one activity to the next
  • Adequate teaching during the party club lesson, memory verse, songs and game time
  • The overall explanation of how to play the game and the types of questions used

Once the Party Club is complete, you can give general feedback to the student as appropriate, but you should keep the observation sheet as it will be needed to provide information to the online instructor. Let the student know that specific observations as well as a grade will be received from the online instructor.

You will need to save the file below to your computer. When you save the file on your computer, please name it Party Club Observation Worksheet Student’s Name. Print the form, take it to the Party Club and fill it out during the club time.

Submission to Online Instructor

Once the Party Club is complete, open the Party Club Observation Worksheet file saved to your computer and enter the information you recorded on the Party Club Observation Sheet during the Party Club. Once you have done this, save the file and close it.

Click the Assignments Block below to submit the completed Party Club Observation Worksheet to the online instructor for use in assigning a grade to the online student. Please contact the online instructor if you have any problems.

In order to provide prompt feedback to the online student, please submit the Party Club Observation Worksheet to the online instructor at the end of the week that the practicum is due (Monday at 11:55 pm Central Time).
