This picture of Abner and Susan Pineda may be printed, cut out and pasted to the Our Missionary card (Knowing 3B) if you would like to feature these missionaries in your missions practicum and/or real-world teaching.

This downloadable document provides you with additional information about Abner and Susan Pineda that you can share in your missions teaching.

You may choose which aspect of missions you would like to teach for your Missions Practicum.

  • Week #1 Knowing
  • Week #2 Praying
  • Week #3 Giving
  • Week #4 Going
  • Week #5 Build on the four aspects taught in previous four weeks

Notice that the aspects (Knowing, Praying, Giving, Going) are ordered by week. If you choose to teach the aspect featured in Week #2, Week #3, Week #4, or Week #5, you will briefly review the previous teaching and update the mission goal-o-meter. Please refer to pages 26-28 in the TCE Level 2 student manual to see what is to be included in the outline of the teaching aspect you have chosen. Please note the week of the missionary story, “In the Storm” (Pineda story), you are to teach with this aspect. If you are taking this course with others in your ministry area, it would be best to choose a different teaching aspect. You might want to look at the resources for teaching Missions found on your TCE Level 2 Resource CD before making your choice. Your Outline for Missions Teaching assignment and your Missions Practicum will focus on the missions teaching aspect that you choose.

Use this downloadable Outline for Missions Teaching Worksheet document to complete your missions teaching outline.

Outline for Missions Practicum Assignment

Using the Outline for Missions Practicum worksheet, prepare a brief outline of the aspect of missions you plan to teach for your practicum. Include the name of the missionary and the week you are presenting. Write out the introduction for the missions segment. List the visual aids you are planning to use from the TCE Level 2 Resource CD and any other activities you plan to include. In Module 6, you will present your missions segment to an assigned proctor as if you were in a children’s class or club. There are six required elements:

  1. Show “Who is our Missionary” card with picture added (Knowing 3B).
  2. Use at least one of the missions question cards in addition to the “Who is our Missionary” card.
  3. Teach one page of the missionary story assigned to you (See below.)
  4. Present a mission goal-o-meter (Choose one from the two provided on the TCE Level 2 Resource CD).
  5. Pass the offering bank and take the offering.
  6. Pray for at least one specific missionary prayer request. (Optional visual—there are praying hands visuals on the TCE Level 2 Resource CD).

    Note:
You may include other activities in your presentation such as a missions song, playing a game, reading a missionary letter, etc. as time allows. Remember you only have 8-10 minutes.

Please submit your completed Outline for Missions Practicum worksheet in the Assignments block below by Monday at 11:55 PM Central Time.
