Real-world Observation Interviews (Ages 12-17)

Conduct three real-world observation interviews with adolescents in the 12-17 age range using the questionnaire below. These real-world observation interviews will enable you to immediately experience the characteristics and behavior of children that you learned about in the Week 1 course content. The interviews may be conducted in person, or by telephone, Zoom, Skype, or some other media type. Be sure to provide the interview questionnaire for the child’s parent(s) to review in advance of the interview, and to secure parental permission for each interview.

Save the completed questionnaires to your computer. You will use your research, observations, and responses the adolescents provided during the interviews to write a three-page, double spaced observation paper describing the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual characteristics of the adolescents interviewed. Compare your observations with the notes in your student manual and your research. Your three completed questionnaires and your three-page observation paper will be submitted together.
